Paul Katz

Paul Katz studies the modern political history of Brazil and southern South America. In addition to his work on JFI’s Guaranteed Income initiative, Katz is a Ph.D. candidate in Latin American history at Columbia University, where he focuses on state violence, human rights, and the transnational Left. With the support of a Fulbright-Hays fellowship, he spent 2017 in residence at the State University of Campinas in São Paulo. Before beginning his Ph.D., Katz completed interdisciplinary degrees in history and literature at Harvard and in the social sciences at Argentina’s National University of Luján.
