In Politico: JFI Fellow Paul Williams, Cea Weaver on federal housing policy
JFI Fellow Paul Williams and New York Housing For All Campaign Coordinator Cea Weaver published an opinion essay this week with Politico. The piece outlines the key affordable housing investments of the federal reconciliation package undergoing debate in Congress. Drawing on their expertise on national housing issues, Paul and Cea argue that attempts to curtail investments in affordable housing are misguided and that federal funding to support affordable housing is long overdue.
From the piece:
“Most of this money would go toward keeping people with low incomes in their homes, accelerating new construction in key areas, and rehabilitating or retrofitting older buildings, all of which are core to the ability of middle- and working-class Americans to live stable lives….The scale of these investments is unprecedented in recent history.”
